About Everson
Coach Dennis Everson brings over 30+ years of coaching experience, working with athletes ranging from 9 to 18 years old. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to developing young athletes not only as baseball players, but also as disciplined and responsible individuals.
Coach Everson attended Lamar Consolidated High School in Richmond, Texas, where he began his varsity baseball career as a sophomore. During his high school career, he held the role of ace pitcher for three consecutive seasons, establishing himself as a key contributor to the program.
Following high school, Coach Everson signed to play NCAA Division I baseball at Lamar University, where he competed from 1990 to 1993. During his time at Lamar, he was part of the team that captured the Sun Belt Conference Championship, gaining valuable experience competing at a high level of collegiate baseball.
After his playing career, Coach Everson began his coaching journey, gaining experience coaching football, basketball, and baseball. His extensive background across multiple sports has helped shape his approach to athlete development, leadership, and team culture.
Coach Everson believes strongly in leadership through coaching and the life lessons taught through the game of baseball. This philosophy emphasizes that every player must learn to perform their role and execute their responsibilities on the field. When each individual commits to doing their job effectively, it leads to both team success and personal growth, reflected in improved performance and individual goals.
Over the years, Coach Everson has mentored and coached numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the professional and collegiate levels, including the MLB, NFL, and various college programs ranging from JUCO to Division I.
Coach Everson maintains a simple but demanding philosophy: players must train with purpose in order to perform at a high level. He also emphasizes that athletes must learn to listen and listen to learn, understanding that coachability, discipline, and effort are essential traits for long-term success in baseball and in life.
