A Texas native, Coach Ferguson began his high school career at Alvin High School, where he competed at both the Freshman and JV levels as a versatile athlete, playing infield, outfield, and pitching.
He continued to develop into a standout player, earning a Varsity role and contributing to a State Runner-Up finish during the 1992–1993 season. He later transferred to Madisonville High School, where he elevated his game even further.
As a pitcher, he earned 1st Team Unanimous All-District honors and played a pivotal role in leading his team to its first-ever playoff appearance, marking a historic milestone for the program. He remained a key Varsity contributor through the 1994–1995 season.
Following high school, Coach Ferguson continued his baseball career at Sam Houston State University from 1995 to 1997 as a pitcher, gaining valuable experience at the collegiate level.
His coaching career began shortly after, returning to Madisonville High School as a Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach (2001–2003). He went on to serve as a Head Coach and Assistant Select Coach (2004–2007), where he helped develop young athletes and build competitive programs.

Coaching Philosophy: As a coach, my passion is to develop the whole player by fostering and promoting positive attitudes both on and off the field. I believe improvement comes through encouragement, accountability, and consistent positive reinforcement. By emphasizing mastery of the fundamental aspects of the game, I aim to instill a "get better every day" mindset in every player. My program is built on creating a family-oriented culture — one that values trust, effort, and mutual respect. I strive to cultivate a fun, energetic, and exciting environment while still emphasizing the importance of putting in the necessary work. Through teaching the game the right way, increasing baseball IQ, and modeling strong character, my goal is to help players grow not only as athletes, but as teammates and individuals who embody the values we work to instill every day.
